MALOKA INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE MUSEUM

BOGOTA, COLOMBIA

Bold bilingual signage for this science museum uses materials locally available and resistant to young visitors.

The modular signage system consists
of symbols and arrows mounted to perforated metal. The design of the exterior pylon extends to the site furniture and waste receptacles, creating a strong visual identity and placemaking.
The museum requested an inclusive wayfinding system that would address
blind visitors, without interfering with
the existing exhibit design.

At the entrance, a raised floor plan introduces the tactile itinerary through the museum, and a segment of Raynes Rail provides directions with distances.
At each gallery, a tactile diagram consistently guides to the statues that
can be touched and to the next gallery.

MUSEE DES BEAUX ARTS – Accessible Museography and Exhibit Design

CALAIS, FRANCE

In the 19th Century Gallery, visually impaired visitors can touch the Bronze Collection which includes masterpieces by Auguste Rodin.

CRA’s renovated gallery features an accessible museography and exhibit design to accommodate wheelchairs and non sighted visitors.

Statue pedestals have adapted heights, the cartels present large text with Braille, and along the walls Raynes Rails with Braille and audio provide directions and commentaries.
