The sign system consistently uses
the architectural finishes.
Glass letters appear delicately positioned on the glass curtain,
while donor names are carved onto
the granite wall which transverses
the building.
Contrasting with this austerity,
an ebullient design recognizes the Children’s Fund.

Floor-to-ceiling glass panels combine door identification and donor recognition in a unified design.
Integrating the sign system directly into the interior glass curtains reinforces the celebration of light and transparency.
The text, Braille and university seal are raised from the blasted surface, which
glows without additional illumination.
The strong design is visible from the lobbies, eliminating directional signage.

MODERN THEATER – SUFFOLK UNIVERSITY
BOSTON, MA
Rather than flamboyant displays and
dazzling technology, CRA’s design shows academic restraint, consistent with the theater’s scale and historic character.
The blade sign is visible from a distance while a marquee greets pedestrians at street level. The marquee conceals the mezzanine floor edge, preserving the illusion of a continuous glass curtain.
The interior sign system is adorned by
a cast bronze leaf attachment, alluding
to the facade’s ornamental details.
